Literature Text

You and Sebastian sat at the table, staring at the cake. It looked delicious, but sharing it...with a demon wasn't on your schedule. Brushing your (h/c) hair out of your face, you pleaded with Ciel. "P-please don't make me eat this...I don't really..um..need to gain any weight?" You lied. You weren't overweight. If anything you were underweight.

"Yes, you have to eat it. I mean, come on. Have you not seen the way you flaunt over him? Does it really bother you to eat a piece of cake with him?" Ciel smirked at you.

"I-I do not flaunt over Sebastian!" You glared at Ciel. Crossing your arms you added, "And yes, it does bother me to share a cake with someone I barely even know."

"That hurts, My Lady, but I agree. It is a tad weird to share cake with someone I'm not very well associated with."   Sebastian smiled at you. He stood up and bowed to Ciel. "Now if you'll excuse me, young master..." He left the room, that cryptic smile still upon his face.

"Well then...um.. I better get going to. It's...um...awfully late." You ran out of the room and out of the door, tripping over your own feet. You hit the ground with a thud. Grimacing, you stood up.

"It looks like your having fun."

You pivoted around. There stood the obnoxious red haired reaper. His arms were crossed over his chest. Angry.

"So you like Bassy too? Well back off." He pulled his chainsaw out of the ground and began walking towards you.

"Grell, calm down. Even if I did, he's a demon." You nearly said that Grell could have him, but you thought better of that. Sebastian was really...hot..and amazing... "Trust me, Grell. There's nothing between us." He stood in front of you now, his chainsaw at you neck.

You stared at him, somehow managing to stay calm, even though you knew Grell always fought for what he wanted. "It might do you good to take your scythe away from my neck. I'm still the top reaper in the London dispatch, and I'm sure you'll be severely punished should something happen to me." Smiling, you took a step back.

"Don't be so sure of yourself, Miss (y/n). I have a few tricks up my sleeve too." Grell turned on his heels and disappeared into the nearby forest.

'That's not the last time I'll have to deal with him..' You sighed. Looking up at the sky, you noticed how peaceful it was. 'Soon, I have to return to dispatch...and I'd never thought that I would like this place. Demons have always been my enemy. But now, standing here, I don't want to leave. He is here. It's really nice at night.' You shook your head. You didn't need to be thinking like that. Not when you had to leave in a week.

"Miss, Miss (Y/n) are you alright?" You turned around to see Sebastian walking towards you.

"I'm fine, Sebastian.. Just a bit tired." You turned around, staring at the sky.

"It would be wise for you to come inside. It is supposed to get cold tonight." Sebastian placed his hand on your shoulder. "You don't want to catch a cold.

You faced Sebastian. "I really don't see why you would care." Walking past him, you added, "Oh, and by the way, I'd be careful if I were you. I hear that there is the obnoxious red haired idiot after your love." You laughed to yourself as you went inside the manor.

"Sebastian, as nice and smart she is, she simply cannot stay here any longer. Any day now we could be attacked, and if you haven't noticed before, she doesn't mind throwing herself in the line of fire if it means protecting someone else. She will be killed. And I know very well how much you care for her. Wouldn't you hate to see her die right in front of you? I'm telling you now Sebastian, for your sake. The Queen has agreed to take her in as a maid. (Y/n) will be better off there than her and you know it. Do not object, my mind is made up."

You had been walking down the hall, when you had heard talking coming from Ciel's study. Letting your curiosity get the better of you, you pressed your ear up against the door and listened in.

"Y-young Master!...I..understand." You heard Sebastian say it. He sounded very sad and unhappy. "I will tell her, after dinner."

Hearing him walk towards the door, you dashed back into your room. 'So much for Sebastian finding out my true identity. It's a shame too...that I can't stay here..longer. With..him..' You sighed as sat down on your bed, forcing the tears back. You had gone and done exactly what was forbidden. You had allowed yourself to fall in love with a demon.

But, still, you had been planning to report back to your boss, William T. Spears tomorrow, so it really made no difference when you left. You had found what you needed.

Later that night, after everyone had eaten, you packed your suitcase and shoved it under the bed.

"Excuse me, Miss (y/n)? May I please come in?" Sebastian lightly knocked on the door. Sighing you stood up and opened it, quickly ushering him inside.

"What is it?" You studied his face, which although hardly ever showed even a little emotion, was pained.

He grabbed your hand and pulled you close, causing you to gasp in surprise. "I-I'm sorry, (y/n)....but you can't stay here any longer.." He buried his face in your soft, (h/c) hair.

"Sebastian, are you alright?" You saw Grell watching you from outside the window, and were careful not to show any feelings for Sebastian. While you knew you could easily take him down, you had no intention of fighting the flamboyant idiot.

    He said nothing.

"Sebastian, I'll be alright. So where am I being shipped off to? Or am I just going to live on the streets?"

"The Queen has agreed to take you in..as a maid of course, but..."

"But nothing Sebastian. I told you to tell her, and now you have. I believe there are still some preparations to be finished?" You and Sebastian both turned on your heels to see Ciel standing in the doorway. He looked highly ticked off too.

"O-of course Young Master. P-please excuse me." Sebastian rushed out of the room.

"Miss, I expect you to be ready to leave at eight o'clock tomorrow morning. Truly sorry to make you leave, but I fear the servants here have been more..distracted since you came." Lies. All lies. Nonetheless you nodded.

"Truly sorry. I shall be ready to leave then as you wish."

He left the room, hiding his surprise at how you hadn't tried to see if you stay.

Turning around, you looked at Grell, who now sat on the tree branch outside of your window. "What do you want Grell?"

He smiled at you, and without a word, jumped down to the ground and left.

At midnight, you grabbed your suitcase, and left, shedding a few tears as you went to go give William your report.

"Mr. Spears, I have my report ready." You stood in the doorway to his office.

"Good, good." He was distracted. Many of Grell's failures had caused William a lot of overtime, and he had had hardly any sleep. "You are going with Knox I believe. You two will reap the souls."

He strode past you and into Ronald Knox's office. A moment later, they came out, Ron complaining about the overtime he had been given.

Stopping in front of you, Ron stopped complaining and smiled. "Well, (y/n), we should get going. All those deaths at the Phantomhive manor need to be taken care of quickly."

This is so late.... oh well. I'm a bit more worried about Algebra. Because of an ice storm, we were out of school for a week and then my Algebra teacher gave us 3 days to learn a new unit, and the 4 day we took a test. All the class averages were failing. And she blames it on us. Oh well, I'm out of school until next year though, so I'm good for now.
